コロナでなかなか国内・海外へ行く機会が減りましたが、

英会話でも旅行気分を味わっていただけるよう✨

日本の素晴らしい場所を英語でご紹介していきます^^

今回は『九州・四国・沖縄編』です。

• 高知県

This is the statue of Ryoma Sakamoto in Katsurahama.

He was a famous samurai from Kochi prefecture.

As a great hero or a significant figure in history, he still has many fans among Japanese people, too.

これは桂浜にある坂本龍馬像です

坂本龍馬は高知県出身の有名な日本の武士です

好きな偉人や尊敬する歴史上の人物として

日本人からも人気のある武士ですよ

This is Kashiwa Island in Kochi.

It is located in the southwestern part of Kochi. 

You can see beautiful coral reefs there.

Sometimes it is mentioned as a paradise for divers.

You should come visit the emerald green ocean in Kochi!

ここは高知県の栢島です

高知県の南西部にあります

栢島では美しいサンゴの群生も見られるため、

ダイバーの聖地とも言われていますよ

高知のエメラルドグリーンの海に遊びにきてくださいね！

• 長崎県

Hot springs and steam gush out everywhere in Unzen Jigoku, Nagasaki. 

There is a spot where you can feel the geothermal heat.

You can get warmed up from deep inside of the body because there are a lot of sulfur springs in Unzen onsen.

It’s a popular spot among local people.

長崎の雲仙地獄では至る所から

温泉と湯けむりが吹き出しています

地熱を感じることができるスポットもありますよ

『雲仙温泉』温泉は硫黄が強く

体の芯まで温めてくれます

地元の人が集う人気スポットです

This is called “Tenkaiho,” which is one of the famous places among the Eight Views of Kujuku-shima.

It’s near Huis Ten Bosch, so please visit there when you come to Nagasaki.

ここは「九十九島八景」のうちでも人気な、

「展海峰（てんかいほう）」というところです

ハウステンボスからも近いので

ぜひ長崎に来た際には訪れてみてくださいね

Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki is very famous for Christmas lights.

But, my favorite is Huis Ten Bosch itself during the morning.

You will feel as if you were in Europe when you are in quiet Huis Ten Bosch without people.

That makes you feel happy.

長崎のハウステンボスはイルミネーションが

とても有名です

でも私のお気に入りは朝のハウステンボスです

人のいない静かなハウステンボスは、

まるで本物のヨーロッパにきたような

幸せな気持ちになります

• 福岡県

Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine is one of the famous shrines in Japan.

It was built by Sugawara Michizane in 919.

It is a famous place for students to pray for success at the entrance exams.

A lot of people buy lucky charms, for themselves or for someone else who has an entrance exam.

太宰府天満宮は日本でもとても有名な神社です。

菅原道真によって、919年に建てられました。

入試祈願の場所として生徒にとても人気があります。

たくさんの人が自分自身に、

もしくはお土産としてお守りを買って帰ります。

I’d like to introduce the bridges across Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine.

Each bridge represents “the past”, “the present” and “the future”.

It is said that you will be purified by walking across the bridges .

There are 3 rules.

When you cross the first bridge, “the past”, don’t look back.

When you walk through the second one, “the present”, don’t stop.

When you walk across the last one, “the future”, don’t stumble.

On the way back, I strongly recommend walking on the side road alongside the bridges.

If you cross them again, but this time from “the future” to “the past”, it means you are going backwards!

太宰府天満宮にかかっている橋についてご紹介します

3つの橋は「過去」「現在」「未来」を表しています

橋を渡ることで身を清めると言われています

渡るときには３つのルールがあります。

1番目の「過去」の橋を渡る時は、後ろを振り返らない。

2番目の「現在」の橋を渡る時は、立ち止まらない。

3番目の「未来」の橋を渡る時は、つまずかない。

帰りは「過去に遡る」ということになってしまうので、

ぜひ橋を渡らずに脇道から帰ってくださいね。

In Fukuoka, please enjoy food.

Everything is good, but I recommend ramen. It’s the best.

In Kyushu, there are so many people who drink a lot, and they go out to eat ramen after that.

There are so many delicious foods in Fukuoka.

福岡といえばやっぱり美味しい食べ物です

なんでもおいしいですが私はラーメンをおすすめします！

九州はお酒をよく飲む方が多いですが

やっぱり外で食べる締めのラーメンは最高です

福岡にはおいしいものがたくさんありますよ

Fukuoka is famous for street food.

The good thing is that you can eat while chatting with all kinds of people.

It’s not that expensive, I recommend it!

福岡では屋台グルメが有名です

好きなものを食べながら、

色んな人とコミュニケーションできるのがいいところです

価格もお手頃でおすすめですよ

• 大分県

Oita is famous for fried chicken in Nakatsu, but actually there are many more good fried chicken shops there.

A shop close to Oita Airport called Karaage Hana-chan is a good one. The owner is friendly and you will feel the warmth of the people there.

I recommend that you stop by when you’re in the neighborhood.

大分といえば中津のから揚げで有名ですが

実は他にも美味しい唐揚げ屋さんが

たくさんありますよ！

大分空港の近くにあるからあげ花ちゃんは

店主さんがフレンドリーで

大分の温かみも感じられます

ぜひ近くにきた時は寄ってみてくださいね

When you visit Beppu Onsen, 

“Jigoku Meguri” tour is a must. 

There are 7 hells altogether.

There is particularly a famous one that is designated as a national scenic beauty. 

But if you have time, I want you to visit all of them.

Kamado Jigoku is good to see.

All of the hells are located near each other, so it won’t take much time to complete.

別府温泉に来たらかかせないのは地獄めぐりです

全部で７つの地獄がありますよ

国の名勝に指定されている地獄が特に有名です

ですがぜひ７つ巡ってぜひすべて見て頂きたいです

意外とかまど地獄がおすすめです

全部近くにあるのですぐに回ることができますよ

• 鹿児島県

Do you know Sogi no taki waterfalls, which is called the Niagara of Japan?

The width of the fall is very wide and you can feel the impressive  water rushing  from both sides.

Especially the day after the rain has much more water and is more impressive to watch.

日本のナイアガラと言われている

曽木（そぎ）の滝はご存知ですか？

横幅が広くて、両脇から落ちる滝の迫力を感じて頂けますので、一生に一度は見て頂きたいです。

特に前日に雨が降っている日がおすすめですよ

水量が多くなり、さらに迫力が増します！

Speaking of Kagoshima, Satsuma Age is the specialty there and the Satsuma age which is freshly fried is the best.

Especially the shop called Agetateya has the ones that have cheese in it that melts by the heat which is  delicious.

鹿児島といえばさつま揚げですが

是非食べて頂きたいのが

揚げたてのさつま揚げです！

揚げ立て屋（あげたてや）のチーズ味が

特におすすめで、

トロッと溶け出したチーズがたまりませんよ

• 宮崎県

If you’re coming to Miyazaki, the best place to visit is the Takachiho gorge.

It’s a place where it was on the TV commercial in Japan, and is a place that represents the Kyushu area.

When you go there by boat, you can go close to the waterfall, and feel the negative ions in the air.

宮崎おすすめのスポットは

有名ですが高千穂峡（たかちほきょう）です。

日本のCMに出てきたり、

九州を代表する絶景スポットですよ。

ボートでいくと目の前で

滝を感じることができ、

マイナスイオンを感じますよ！

In Takachiho gorge, there is a waterfall called “Manai waterfalls”  which is selected as Japan’s hundred famous waterfalls which is the symbol of Takachiho gorge.

“Manai waterfalls” falls from 17meters high, and at summer time, the waterfall and the pathway lights up at night and you can enjoy the mystical atmosphere.

Speaking of Takachiho gorge, rental boats are famous. When you watch the waterfall above from the boat, you can feel the power from the waterfall which falls from 17 meters high.

高千穂峡には日本の滝百選に指定されている

名瀑「真名井の滝」があり、

高千穂峡のシンボルとなっています。

「真名井の滝」は約17ｍの高さから水面に落ち、

夏の間は、真名井の滝と遊歩道が

ライトアップされ、

神秘的な雰囲気を楽しめます。

また、高千穂峡といえば貸しボート。

ボートから見上げる真名井の滝は

迫力満点で、落差17ｍを体感できますよ。

When you come to Takachiho, Amanoyasukawara is also nice to go, and it’s close to Amanoiwato shrine.

Amanoiwato shrine is written in the Japanese mythology, Kojiki and Nihonshoki, and is called the place of legend.

In Amanoyasukawara, it’s said that when you pile up stones, your wish will come true, and there are piled up stones everywhere, which is mysterious.

高千穂にきたら天安河原（あまのやすかわら）も

おすすめですよ！

天岩戸（あまのいわと）神社の近くにあります。

天岩戸神社は日本神話（古事記・日本書紀）に

書かれている、天岩戸神話の伝説の地と言われています。

天安河原では石積みをして願い事をすると

願いが叶うといわれており、

祈願を行う人たちが積んだ石が並んでいる

不思議な光景がありますよ。

• 熊本県

Aso is the largest active volcano in Kumamoto, Kyushu.

It stands at 1592m above the sea level, and it is a famous sightseeing spot in Kumamoto.

It erupted in 2016, and we couldn’t go there for a while, but  the tourist route has been reopened so you should go and see it at least once.

阿蘇山は九州の熊本県にある、

日本でも最も大きい活火山です。

高さは1592mあり、

たくさんの観光客が訪れる熊本の有名な観光スポットです

最後に噴火したのは2016年で、一度封鎖されましたが観光客のためにまた開放されたので、一度は見に行くべきですよ

Kumamoto is rich in nature.

In Aso Kuju national park, you can feel the great nature.

Kikuchi keikoku, which was chosen as one of the best waters in Japan, and the great field like the movie “Castle in the sky” are highly recommended.

熊本には自然がたくさんあります

阿蘇くじゅう国立公園では特に

大自然を感じることができますよ

日本名水百選にも選ばれた菊池渓谷や

ラピュタのような大草原には

ぜひ一度訪れて頂きたいです

When you come to Kuawamoto, please try the delicious foods at the road station!

It’s popular among the locals, and there are freshly made foods, and bread which uses water from Aso.

Especially the soft serve ice cream which uses fresh milk from Aso, is delicious!

If you like to have a thick tasting soft serve ice cream, you should try  the ones that are made from the Takehara farm!

In Aso, there is milk that was awarded three stars from Michelin.

That is the “ASO MILK” from Abe farm!

Please enjoy  the fresh milk in Aso!

Also the “ASO yogurt drink” is delicious too!

熊本にきたらぜひ道の駅阿蘇で

阿蘇の美味しい食べ物を食べていってくださいね！

手作りのご飯や阿蘇の水を使ったパンまで

地元の人にも人気の道の駅です。

阿蘇の新鮮な牛乳でできたソフトクリームは

絶品ですよ！

もし濃いソフトクリームが食べたい方は

• 香川県

The Hinode noodle factory is a legendary udon shop that only opens one hour, from 11:30 to 12:30.

You should order the menu called “Nurui”.

Please enjoy the Kagawa udon when you come here.

• 佐賀県

When it comes to Saga, Yobuko!

When you think of Yobuko, squid!

Here, you can taste the fresh squid sashimi.

Also there are squid steam dumplings which are chewy and yummy.

Why don’t you enjoy them while watching the sea? You can’t experience this anywhere else.

佐賀といえば呼子！

呼子といえばイカ！

ここでは新鮮なイカの活けづくりが食べられます

ほかにもいかしゅうまいが

もちもちしていておすすめです！

海を見ながら食べるイカはまた格別ですよ

This is Nanatsugama in Saga.

It is designated as a natural monument in Japan.

The seven caves are made out of those natural waves.

You can also go into the cave if you join a cruise trip.

ここは佐賀県の七ツ釜です

日本の天然記念物にも指定されています

7つの洞窟は自然の波からつくられています

洞窟内まで入ることができるクルージングもありますよ
